The Cretan Olive Diet

- Include plenty of food from plant sources, containing fruits and vegetables, breads and grains, beans, nuts, and different kind of seeds.
- Eat modestly processed, fresh and locally grown foods.
- Have low to moderate amounts of cheese and yoghurt daily.
- Consume low to moderate amounts of fish and poultry weekly and limit eggs from zero to four per week.
- Eat only red meat a few times or just once a month.
